BASEBALL LACES TIMELINE From Then to Now: 300 Years of Women in Baseball 1748 First recorded women’s baseball game in England—largely unrecognized and informal. 1866 - 1900s First recorded women’s baseball game in the United States—lacking formal recognition. 1943 - 1954 AAGPBL offers rare spotlight but with gender-specific constraints. 1972 Title IX boosts women’s sports but highlights inequalities. 2000s Growth in women’s sports; baseball lags. Softball “discontinued” from the Olympics. 2020 Women's sports receive less than 5% of airtime—of which, virtually 0% is women’s baseball. 2022 Retinal Delights incorporated as the first fan-created NFT platform to fund the DAO Baseball League—beginning with women’s baseball cards. 2023 The DAO Baseball League becomes a legal entity under Retinal Delights, Inc. and is: “Putting the ‘all’ in baseball using blockchain technology.” 2026 Women’s baseball becomes actualized with the inaugural teams: Los Angeles Blue Sox Boston Resolutes Vegas Vixens Brooklyn Black Sox Buffalo Rust Belts More coming soon! 2050 Women’s sports inclusion will drive $14 trillion in new value by 2050.
